The Greek class is designed to get you up and running quickly in your ability to translate sections of the New Testament. At the end of the first year, the book of John, as well as his letters, should be accessible to you. Many other sections of the New Testament will also be understandable, In addition, you will also be able to glean much information from those sections of the New Testament that are a bit too technical for a first-year student, but you will still be able to discern much more about a particular passage that you would just read the English translations.
The course is divided over thirty-six chapters. Most weeks we will meet once-a-week. However, in order to get in all thirty-six chapters, including review sessions and tests, we will need to meet twice-a-week for a limited number of weeks scattered throughout the two semesters.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Randy Cutter will be sending out a syllabus in the next couple weeks.
Learning any language is an adventure. Learning the language of the New Testament is not only an adventure, it will open your eyes in ways that no other language can.
