Christian counseling combines faith with the principles of Psychology. Students learn and grow in their knowledge of human psychology through field-tested techniques and practices for promoting emotional, spiritual, and relational wellness in diverse communities.

Master of Christian Counseling

This degree can lead to a faith-centered career in counseling. It is for those called to help people struggling with mental health issues such as addictions, crises, substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, or depression. This program is designed to equip students for an effective counseling ministry. Two levels of education are offered: a 40-credit hour Master’s Degree or a Master of Christian Counseling Certificate which is 23 credit hours. Graduates with a CMM Master of Christian Counseling Degree, are able to be trained and authorized to administer the Arno Profile System (APS). This profile is a useful clinical tool to help counsel clients more effectively. It is an online program developed by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). Upon completion of this degree, you may enroll in training with the NCCA’s online program to obtain licensure as a Pastoral Counselor. There are additional fees. CMM is a Certified Academic Institute with the NCCA.

CMM College of Theology was founded by Dr. Jorge Parrott, President of CM Missions, our global missions organization. Students from various nations are often in our classes and many build lifelong friendships. Students may participate on short-term mission trips and experience international ministry (the cost of the trips is not included in the tuition). The Master of Christian Counseling program is accredited by the Association of Independent Christian Colleges and Seminaries (AICCS).

PATHS OF STUDY: If a student graduates with a Master in Christian Counseling Degree with CMM College of Theology and chooses to switch directions and pursue a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Studies with us, the student will contact the President at president@cmmtheology.org

Goals

To give students a Christian perspective on human development as they deepen their understanding that we are perfectly and wonderfully made. Students will learn how to help the hurting navigate through the challenges of life. Trusting in the sufficiency of Christ is foundational. This is a 40 credit course.

Prerequisites

Bachelor degree with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Students may be eligible for entrance given education experience.

Graduation Requirements

Completion of all course requirements 36 graduate credit hours beyond the bachelor’s degree, with a 3.00 GPA of a 4.00, (accomplished by passing this course and writing an original thesis paper)
