Doctor of Theology – CPhD
(Christian PhD)

The CMM Doctor of Theology Degree, the CPhD, is a Christian theological research degree designed to demonstrate the increasing scholarship of the candidate. The dissertation is to be a contribution to humanity asserting a philosophical aspect of the nature, ways or character of God. In this degree program the candidate is to complete a self-paced, research dissertation that is an in depth, scholarly study on the theological topic of the candidate’s choice.

Goals

For the doctoral candidate to present themselves before the Lord to better understand their contribution to humanity and then to be able to express some part of the whole through a dissertation leading to a book.

Prerequisites

Doctorate of Ministry degree (or equivalent degree – ThD) with a 3.00 GPA or higher out of a 4.00. Measurable fruit from ministry experience is required. Evidence of scholarly research ability and theological analysis. Students may be eligible for entrance based on education and experience

Graduation Requirements

40 postgraduate credit hours with a 3.00 GPA beyond the Doctor of Ministry Degree or equivalent degree. This is accomplished by: attending classes and writing the dissertation with a 3.00 GPA; successful completion of a scholarly dissertation of 55,000-75,000 words that reflects original research and defended before a review board, as well as a final interview with CMM College of Theology staff leaders.
