Doctorate in Christian Counseling
The Doctorate in Christian Counseling at CMM College prepares spiritually mature, academically prepared, and professionally competent leaders to advance the Kingdom of God through counseling, education, research, ministry, and leadership. Grounded in the authority of Scripture and empowered by the Holy Spirit, the program integrates biblical theology with evidence-informed counseling practices to equip graduates to care for the whole person—spirit, soul, and body.
Students engage in advanced study that integrates theological reflection, clinical theory, ethical practice, leadership development, and scholarly research. By integrating psychology with a biblical worldview, graduates develop the knowledge and skills to address the emotional, relational, psychological, and spiritual needs of individuals, families, churches, and communities with wisdom, compassion, and professional integrity.
A distinguishing feature of the program is its emphasis on personal and professional formation. CMM College believes that effective Christian counselors minister from lives transformed by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Students are challenged to cultivate spiritual maturity, ethical leadership, emotional health, and a commitment to lifelong learning as they prepare to serve in diverse counseling and ministry settings.
Graduates are prepared to serve as counselors, educators, researchers, consultants, and ministry leaders who model Christ-centered leadership and advance healing, restoration, and authentic transformation. Through academic rigor and Spirit-led ministry, they are equipped to bring hope, wholeness, and Christ’s love to a world in need.

Develop advanced competency in integrating biblical theology, Christian worldview, and evidence-based counseling theories to provide holistic care that addresses the spiritual, psychological, emotional, relational, and behavioral needs of individuals, couples, families, and communities. - Cultivate Personal and Professional Formation
Demonstrate spiritual maturity, ethical integrity, emotional health, and Christ-like character through ongoing personal growth, self-awareness, reflective practice, and commitment to lifelong learning. Graduates will model healthy leadership and maintain professional standards consistent with Christian counseling practice. - Advance Scholarship and Research
Conduct scholarly research that contributes to the field of Christian counseling by critically evaluating current literature, integrating theology with psychological science, and developing biblically grounded, evidence-informed approaches that promote healing, restoration, and human flourishing. - Lead and Equip Others for Transformational Ministry
Provide visionary leadership through teaching, mentoring, supervision, program development, and organizational influence that equips counselors, ministry leaders, and faith communities to foster healing, discipleship, authentic relationships, and resilient communities rooted in the love of Christ.
Graduates of the Doctor of Christian Counseling program will be equipped to serve as spiritually mature clinicians, scholars, educators, and ministry leaders who integrate biblical truth with professional counseling practice, conduct meaningful research, promote ethical excellence, and lead transformational initiatives that foster healing, restoration, and authentic Christian community in diverse settings.
Prerequisites
Master degree with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Students may be eligible for entrance given education experience.
Graduation Requirements
Completion of all course requirements 36 graduate credit hours beyond the Master’s degree, with a 3.00 GPA of a 4.00, (accomplished by passing this course and writing an original thesis paper)
