Biography

Dr. Lori Dunn is the Founder and CEO of Koinonia House Ministries and Koinonia Restoration House LLC, a Christ-centered, transformational ministry dedicated to helping individuals and families experience healing, wholeness, and purpose through authentic relationships. She holds a Master of Arts in Trauma and Crisis Management from Liberty University and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling from CMM School of Theology. Her areas of focus include attachment trauma, relational and prophetic healing, identity formation, and spiritual growth.

Dr. Dunn lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, and treasures her role as a mother of four adult children and a grandmother of two, with another grandchild on the way. Family is one of her greatest joys and sources of inspiration. When she is not counseling, teaching, or ministering, she enjoys spending quality time with Father God, traveling, pottery, writing, and investing in meaningful relationships. She loves coffee and time on the beach with her two dogs, Josie and Lola. With more than 20 years of experience in ministry leadership, pastoral counseling, teaching, and mentoring, Dr. Dunn is passionate about helping individuals find freedom from past wounds and discover their God-given identity and calling. She has worked with fostered and adopted youth, children, families, and ministry leaders, integrating biblical principles, therapeutic interventions, and Holy Spirit-led ministry to facilitate lasting transformation.

She is also a Board Member and Director of Communications for Women on the Frontlines, a global ministry focused on empowering, equipping, and mobilizing women into their God-given destiny and sphere of influence. Her ministry training includes completing School of Ministry training under leaders affiliated with Global Awakening, as well as advanced training in Sozo Ministry, Healing Rooms, Heartgarden Ministries, inner healing, and deliverance ministry. Dr. Dunn has served as a leader on inner-healing and deliverance teams and has ministered prophetically alongside ministries such as Abiding Glory Ministries, The Well Church, and WOFL. She currently serves in a leadership role with Heartgarden Ministries, helping equip and mentor emerging leaders, pastors, and ministry teams in relational health, healing, and leadership development.

Dr. Dunn’s passion for people extends beyond counseling and ministry into global missions and cultural engagement. She has served as a co-leader on a missionary team to Southeast Asia. Her academic studies also include travel throughout Europe, where she studied culture and the humanities at London University, broadening her understanding of human development, cultural diversity, and global perspectives on faith and community.

At the heart of Dr. Dunn’s work is a desire to serve as a catalyst for transformation. She is passionate about helping individuals uncover the gifts, passions, and purpose God has placed within them. She has a special heart for those who often feel overlooked, misunderstood, or like they do not fit the traditional mold. She believes these individuals frequently carry unique callings and innovative perspectives that can influence culture and bring meaningful change across the Seven Mountains of Influence. Her life’s mission is to educate, equip, and empower others to pursue wholeness in Christ, cultivate healthy relationships with God and others, and become influential leaders who transform their families, communities, and future generations.
